Dreambook - Free Guestbook Provider. This is a fairly good service because it's guestbook is fully customizable and the server it is on rarely goes down. Also, I consider it relatively easy to set up, you simply put pieces of pre-generated html code on your website. Both the Guestbook and the page it is on are customizeable features. The only "catch", which I consider to be minor, is that the company will try to get you to look at their other services, a weblog and mailing list service for your website, which are not free. But you are under no obligation to use these services, however. This is one of the older free guestbook services on the web, being formed by 4 Computer Science undergraduates at hmc.edu in Claremont, California.The Guestbook Depot - This is an Easy to use Free Guestbook Service. It is quite easy to create a guestbook at this site, you just fill out the online form and submit. These guestbooks are intended primarily for personal use. It is a pretty decent format since Guests may enter a great deal of detailed information if they want, like their email or web address. I have found this to be one of the faster free guestbook services out there. You may view a free demo guestbook on the site to see if you like the style. Incidentally, due to Hurricane Katrina which hammered the Gulf Coast area where this service is based, customer service will be down temporarily.Bravenet.net - Large Guestbook Provider. . Bravenet, which I also include under my 'Free Content' segment, features a broad array of free webmaster tools, of which free guestbooks are one. You can customize your Guestbook with both colors and graphics. You can add MiDB sounds, plus you may even ban the IP Address of spammers. You may also include over six hundred smilies to the entries and allow people to post their own graphics as well as HTML Code. I would not say that Bravenet ranks as high as some of the other free providers since they are ultra commercialized and will place adds on your guestbook. But it is free and very easy to set up if you just need something to get you started. |
